The GPS in the Garmin Rino 120 is practically identical to the Garmin etrex Legend. Even the included basemap is extremely useful for challenging navigation. The GPS user interface to be remarkably intuitive.
The satellite reception is considerably better than what you would expect. Surprisingly, you could get a second lock from inside your house. It comes with plenty of memory for downloading MapSource maps. The GPS is second to none, which can also be said for the rest of Garmin's product line.
One use of the Garmin Rino 120 is to go Geocaching. It does an excellent job of showing you the distance and ETA. It even gives an approximate location on a basemap already provided in the unit. This will absolutely save you in case you misread a set of directions. (Garmin Rino 120 manual included.)
In my humble opinion, the best part of this GPS unit is the ability to send and receive the location of your traveling companions (friends and family). This works perfectly and behind the scenes, whenever you transmit or push the call button. You will be extremely happy with this device. You will consider the Garmin Rino 120 a "must have" piece of equipment for any trip.
Just let you know, if you can believe it, I just pulled my Rino 120 out of the washing machine. What a mistake that was, but it proved to me that this waterproof device continues to work perfectly even under the most treacherous conditions.
The Garmin Rino 120 price is a steal.
